A newborn and family portrait session at home

Would you believe this is Sophie’s 3rd session with me this year! Sophie very kindly purchased photography vouchers for both her parents and her husband Richard’s parents so that they could both have beautiful photos taken with their children and grandchildren. This time however there was a new addition to the family, little Isabelle. These photos were taken when she was just a week old, just a tiny little bundle.

Having the session in their own home, made for minimal interruption to their day as the children didn’t need to be bundled up and put in the car. Isabelle’s sister Evie was confident from the very start of the session in her own surroundings. We were able to get a great selection of images including those precious family shots and individual images of the children, but also, the holy grail of portrait images: Newborn and toddler together! Mission accomplished. Playing games, a little reverse-psychology and having the patience to let it all fall into place meant that those much-wanted shots came naturally, not forced. Very important with little ones.

I feel honoured to have captured this special time for this lovely family. They will have a beautiful set of images from this fleeting time in their lives to treasure for years to come.
